CHECK is a
homeschool co-op entering its fifth year in the Tri Cities. We
meet at Bethel Church located at 600 Shockley Road in Richland
every Wednesday from 9:00-3:00. Cooperatives offer a
unique opportunity to utilize the talents and energy from a
diverse group of individuals. Parents contribute to the co-op by
volunteering their time in the classroom as a teacher or an
aide. In this way,
parents are always directly involved.
Being
involved in a co-op can prevent you from feeling overwhelmed
and burned out---why do it alone, when you can have a tremendous
support group every week?
As a result
of these benefits to you, your students are also receiving
benefits to their schooling experiences. They are receiving
quality teaching from others with similar beliefs, learning to
interact with others in a small and friendly classroom setting,
and are exposed to the diverse interests and expertise of others
in your group. To have other adults, whom your children
respect, reinforcing your convictions and ideals, is a benefit
to your family that is incomparable. Another wonderful benefit
is in the form of "good" peer pressure---to feel the need to
turn in their best effort for their Co-op class.
CHECK is organized into
five periods with different classes each hour. In order to be
part of CHECK you are not required to enroll your kids in every
period. For the daily schedule and the yearly calendar visit the
CHECK
Schedule page.
